The USPS has planned in detail the issuance of 14 postage stamps that illustrate presidential figures, personalities with a great contribution to the American cultural heritage and the celebration of the Lunar Year through its Year of the Rooster stamps.
Among these stamps are numbered postal stamps such as The Sharks series of stamps. It thus wishes to celebrate this majestic oceanic figure. One of the noteworthy stamps that awaits issuance is the Uncle Sam stamp, in memory of the illustrative figure of American bravery and courage. About the National Museum of African American History and Culture Stamp
By issuing this stamp, the USPS will celebrate the contribution to the historical, cultural and artistical research, and by promoting derivate work that the Museum of African American History and Culture has been doing for quite some time. About the museum: it is the only 19th-century Smithsonian museum that has devoted all the efforts for promoting such activities. The stamp replicates the photograph taken by Alan Karchmer of the northwest corner of the building.
In the upper left corner of the stamp is written the name of the museum. Designing the stamp was made by the art director Antonio Alcalá.
As seen, the year of 2017 is going to be a year rich in postal culture and issuing. The USPS will be busy all year-long issuing and launching stamps. It will be organizing events that commemorate figures such as Uncle Sam, JFK, the sharks. Along with this, we have forever stamps honoring the Latin American cuisine or the great philosopher and social thinker Henry David Thoreau.
